Production Capacity and Lead Time for Sealing Products

For industrial procurement teams, production capacity and delivery planning are important considerations when selecting a sealing products supplier. Kaxite works with customers to confirm product specifications, order quantities, inspection requirements, and requested delivery dates before establishing an order schedule. The figures below show typical lead time ranges — the exact schedule is confirmed at quotation based on current production and material availability.

Lead Time by Order Type

Four Types of Orders, Four Scheduling Approaches

Different order types have different scheduling drivers. The ranges below are typical; the exact schedule is confirmed at quotation.

Standard Products

Typically 7–15 days

Lead time for standard products depends on current inventory, material availability, order quantity, packaging requirements, and production workload. Standard gaskets, braided packing, and graphite or PTFE sheets typically ship within 7–15 days after order confirmation.

When requesting a quotation, please specify the product model or drawing, required quantity, and delivery destination so that availability and the expected schedule can be reviewed.

Customized Products

Confirmed at quotation

Customized orders may require technical review, material procurement, tooling or setup where applicable, sample approval, and additional inspection. Complex drawings and special materials take longer than standard specifications.

The confirmed lead time reflects these requirements rather than relying on a general estimate. For a customized order, submit your drawing and material specification so the schedule can be reviewed against current production.

Sample Orders

Typically 7–10 days

Samples help buyers assess dimensions, material characteristics, appearance, and compatibility with their application requirements. For standard materials, samples are typically available in 7–10 days once drawings and specifications are confirmed.

Sample availability, development time, charges, shipping costs, and approval procedures are confirmed for each project. Complex drawings or special materials may take longer.

Repeat Orders

Scheduled against forecast

For recurring orders, buyers can discuss forecast quantities, delivery schedules, packaging specifications, and product documentation requirements in advance. Repeat-order planning is particularly useful when products have fixed specifications.

Because the specification and inspection criteria are already confirmed, repeat orders avoid the technical review and sample approval stages, which shortens the overall schedule.

What Determines Your Schedule

Six Factors That Affect Delivery

Product selection and delivery planning depend on the application, not just the catalog. These six factors are the most common reasons a lead time differs from the typical range.

Product Type and Technical Complexity

Spiral wound gaskets, ring joint gaskets, and PTFE components have different production routes and inspection scopes.

Material Availability and Grade

Special graphite grades, PTFE compounds, or metal grades may require procurement lead time before production starts.

Order Quantity and Production Workload

Larger quantities and peak production periods extend the schedule; smaller trial orders can often be scheduled faster.

Customization, Tooling, and Sample Approval

New tooling, first-article inspection, and sample approval add time before mass production begins.

Testing, Inspection, and Documentation

Third-party inspection, material certificates, or special test reports add time to the final inspection stage.

Packaging, Shipping Method, and Destination

Export packing, sea freight versus air freight, and customs clearance affect the final delivery date.

Expedited Orders

Expedited orders can be discussed subject to production capacity and material availability. Rush charges may apply and are confirmed at quotation. For time-critical projects, mention your target delivery date in the initial inquiry so that the feasibility of an expedited schedule can be reviewed.
